Ayrshire is an amazing county for Golf – there are just so many fantastic courses to choose from it’s difficult to choose just 10 and I’ve been fortunate to play the majority of them – however here are my top 10 and in future blogs I’ll be letting you know exactly why they are my favourites……enjoy reading
1. Ailsa Championship Golf Course – Turnberry Par 71, 7489-yards
Iconic – a must play course and great test of golf
2. Western Gailes, Irvine – Par 71, 7014-yards
Classic links – a real gem
3. Dundonald Links, Troon – Par 72, 7100-yards
Fairly new – but making its mark – hosted the 2017 Scottish Open Championship
4. Prestwick Golf Club, Prestwick – Par 71, 6908-yards
A must play course – birthplace of the Open Championship
5. Royal Troon Golf Club, Troon – Par 71, 7208-yards
Open Championship venue and a tough test of golf
6. Gailes Links Golf Club – Par 71, 6903 yards
A great test of accuracy – thinking your way round
7. Irvine Golf Club, Irvine – Par 71, 6594 yards
Always immaculate with stunning backdrop of the Isle of Arran
8. Kilmarnock Barrassie Golf Club – Par 72, 6817-yards
Challenging fairways and greens – a great test of golf
9. Prestwick St Nicholas Golf Club, Prestwick – Par 69, 6044-yards
